So, I've been to my fair share of hotels around the world. Was looking for a place in LA that didn't break the bank but was still decent and in a good spot. This hotel seemed like it hit the mark, but then I saw some mixed stuff in the reviews, especially on Google, which made me second guess (I'm from Europe so take this with the grain of salt) We ended up staying here for over 10 days, and now that I've seen a lot of what LA has to offer, here's my two cents: Area: It's safe, at least for LA. It's pretty much on a university campus, plus you've got Target, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods just a short walk away. Location: Pretty spot-on. 2 mins off the freeway, a quick drive to Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, and Santa Monica. Parking: Managed to find street parking almost every night Hotel: Clean and cozy, no complaints here, boutique-like (but American :)) Staff: Mostly friendly folks. The manager had her grumpy moments, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Wasn't expecting the red carpet or anything. Price: For when we stayed, it was a steal. Would've cost us 3x more anywhere else.

I had a wonderful sleep in this small, quiet, boutique like hotel on the outskirts of the busy Westwood/UCLA area of Los Angeles. it's located just two blocks away from both the downtown Westwood area with tons of restaurants, a farmers market, the free Hammer Art Museum and other people watching places. In the other direction lays the UCLA campus that is accessed on the Geffen School of Medicine and urban Arboretum side. All very walkable. Easy access to the freeway to get you to the rest of LA. I checked in a bit early with no problem and had to cancel my last reserved day with a quick credit applied. Rooms were spotless. The grab and go breakfast suited my needs - strong coffee, yogurt and a pastry. Fruit, bagels and jam were also available.

I love Pali Society in general. (the one in Santa Barbara is my fave). This one was a little lackluster. Cute enough. Not an obvious theme. just a sweet Art Deco building, and neat architectural features like rounded bay windows. It was made preppy with plaid carpeting like a Graduate Hotel in a college town. TBH - I'd prefer more Classic Hollywood to match the 1930s Westwood theaters. Good lighting. As always, some fun design touches and objects. But some choices overlook function, e.g. we squinted to see room numbers which nearly invisible embossed #s on little squares of leather. Overall I'd call it very clean and overall comfortable for a quick weekend. Cuter than average. Perfect location for UCLA etc. LOVELY staff and vibe.

This was our fourth stay at a Paligroup hotel, having stayed in San Francisco, Carmel-by-the-Sea, Santa Barbara, and finally Los Angeles. As expected, the experience at Palihotel Westwood Village was consistently wonderful. The hotel embodies a mix of mid-century modern with Parisian eclecticism, all set in a delightful historic building that was once home to Westwood Village’s first-ever hotel from 1939. It’s undoubtedly the most stylish, design-forward hotel in Westwood Village. It’s evident that Avi Brosh, the owner, oversees nearly every detail from development to operations and design. The attention to creating spaces that are both stylish and comfortable really enhances the guest experience.

I really liked the "vibe" of the hotel. The guy at the front desk shared with us that it was built in 1939 and was the first hotel in Westwood. They offered a very nice continental breakfast (coffee, juice, bagels, croissants, fruit, and yogurt), and the whole atmosphere of the lobby is really chill. It's got lots of windows, nice comfy chairs and couches. The people are nice, and we all just said, "hi" to each other, some engaged in chit-chat, and the employees are very personable as well.
